Building Green
Intermountain Precast and Arches Engineering use the most up to date information and techniques from conceptualization to completion in all of our products.
We use a 30% fly ash concrete mixture, helping to recycle landfill material and reduce the amount of cement needed.
We use Energy Star approved Insulfoam EPS insulation, to help bring out walls to a maximum insulation value and completely damp-proof. Insulfoam EPS contains 10% recycled foam content.
We recycle all unused foam insulation, as well as using all additional unused concrete in secondary products.
Because our products are manufactured at our facility, we eliminate on-site waste and the need for concrete mixing trucks to and from your project location.
GREENCAST and DfEND wall panels assist in creating a more efficient "home envelope" in order to save on long term energy costs.
Our products require no additional coatings or spray-on damp-proofing, they are 100% water tight from the factory.
GREENCAST and DfEND wall panel insulation
Your home envelope is important to your overall energy savings. Your home envelope is measured by it's insulating capabilities and how easily heat or cold can escape your home. Each individual home envelope component has it's own value related to it's ability to insulate your home. This is called an "R-value". The higher the value, the less energy that escapes your home. That being said lets talk a little about the R-values of our wall panels, both foundation walls and above ground walls.
Our concrete wall systems are rated with a much higher insulation value than any traditional system. Our DfEND wall systems are rated with an R-22 insulation value. Typical framed construction is rated at R-10 for a traditional framed wall and R-15 for a 24" off-center "advanced framing" wall. Our GREENCAST foundation system is rated to a value of R-30, with traditional poured in place values of less that R-5.
